Highlighted Skill Areas - Perspective and Writing
-Exploration of both historical and modern young people who have shown exemplary character, rich imagination, and life-altering resilience
-Books that are biographical and that embody the spirit of courageous people
-Memorable exchanges with living characters who were once courageous kids
-Opportunities to consider the role of perspective in life and in literature
-Art, play, sports and other activities...connected with reading and grade-level standards
-Reader's theater for fun and practice (Watch that confidence grow!)
-Personalized, individual and small group instruction
-Respectful staff with high expectations and effective technique
-At least two hours of direct reading, writing and spelling instruction daily
-Introduction to age- and developmentally-appropriate text
-Opportunities to earn incentive rewards, including new books, for effort and progress
-Morning and afternoon snack provided daily AND a camp t-shirt for each camp attended
-The chance to get to know some great friends...people and books!
